A professional baker measures ingredients, mixes batters and doughs, and operates ovens to produce breads, pastries, and desserts. Their day-to-day includes shaping dough, monitoring baking temperatures, decorating finished products, maintaining inventory, and adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation: Accurately measure and weigh wet and dry ingredients. Mix, knead, roll, and shape doughs for bread, rolls, pies, and pastries.
Baking & Decorating: Bake items at the correct temperatures and times. Decorate, glaze, and frost cakes, cookies, and pastries using piping bags and spatulas.
Production & Inventory: Draw up production schedules, track ingredient stock, and order baking supplies to ensure a steady workflow.
Safety & Sanitation: Clean and sanitize baking equipment (ovens, mixers, and provers) and maintain an organized, hygienic workstation in compliance with health regulations
